A relaxing, soothing way of relieving ear, nose,
sinus, throat and head problems
Ear Candling is a treatment that involves burning a specially designed candle. The candle is a hollow tube made out of linen which has been infused with herbs and stiffened by soaking in beeswax. As the candle burns, the heat from the flame warms the air rising up the hollow centre. This creates a mild suction which causes gentle pressure and sound waves that massage the eardrum. Even the slightest movement of the drum is transmitted into the middle and inner ear ensuring that all the structures of the ear receive a gentle massage.
Many conditions such as:
have responded positively to Ear Candling
A treatment begins with an initial consultation to ensure that there are no reasons why Ear Candling would be unsuitable, such as inflammation or infection in the ear. You will then lie comfortably on one side, with your head supported on a pillow.
The candle is placed in the outer ear and ignited. The candle is always held as it is burning down.
You will be aware of of a gentle warmth and a pleasant crackling sound. Administering gentle heat locally stimulates the peripheral blood circulation, lymphatic system and immune system. Once the candle has burnt down it is removed and extinguished. The process is then repeated on the other ear.
The treatment ends with a soothing face and neck massage. This enhances the actions of the ear candling and helps with lymphatic drainage.
An Ear Candling treatment lasts for about 45 mins and the charge is £25
