Reflexology

Your feet could hold the key to better health

Reflexology is an ancient healing technique that works on the principle that the feet are a map of the body. During a treatment gentle pressure is applied to reflex points located on all parts of the feet. These reflexes connect via energy pathways to all the internal organs, structures and systems of the body. Pressure on these points can balance the functioning of the body and enable its natural healing ability to begin.

Reflexology aims to bring the body to a state of relaxation and balance. The body is equipped to self-heal but this facility often works inefficiently because the vital energy pathways are blocked. This can be caused by degeneration and the stresses of life. Reflexology reduces stress, boosts the immune system and accelerates the repair work being done by the body.

Reflexology may help with:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Depression

  • Insomnia

  • Digestive disorders including IBS

  • Migraine and headaches

  • Sinus problems

  • Back, shoulder and neck pain

  • Hormonal imbalances including menstrual and menopausal problems

  • Lack of  energy

The first visit begins with a short discussion about your medical history, the reasons you have come for a treatment and how Reflexology can help you. You will then relax in a comfortable reclining chair as I work around your feet using a compression technique. The pressure will be altered to suit your own personal comfort level. I will be noting areas of imbalance and these will be discussed after the treatment.

A soothing foot massage ends the treatment

Afterwards all the findings from your Reflexology treatment will be explained to you and any questions you have will be answered. As conditions are often of long-standing a course of treatments would be discussed. There is no hard and fast rule although most people  would benefit from three to four treatments. Everyone has individual needs and further treatments are always planned on that basis.

Some people like to have Reflexology on a regular basis to keep themselves in balance and also as a relaxing treat to themselveves.

A Reflexology treatment lasts for about 1 hour and the charge is £30
